Scholarship Details:
The Earthquake Disaster & Risk Evaluation and Management Center (E-DREaM) at the National Central University (NCU) invites applications for visiting scholar positions within the research areas of earthquakes, subsurface structure, tsunamis, landslides, and extreme weather systems. Eligible applicants must either possess a Ph.D. degree or be expected to have completed their Ph.D. by the time of appointment. In accordance with the policies of NCU and E-DREaM, appointed scholars will receive per diem and travel expenses.
About E-DREaM:
The E-DREaM Center brings together experts and scholars specializing in disaster chains from various departments of the National Central University. These include the Department of Earth Sciences, the Institute of Applied Geology, the Department of Atmospheric Sciences, the Institute of Hydrology and Oceanography, and the Department of Civil Engineering. The Center’s main role is to integrate and analyze the risk factors associated with earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides, landslide dams, soil liquefaction, and extreme weather systems, effectively evolving into a specialized agency bridging academia with the insurance, technology, and engineering sectors. In maintaining close connections with the industry, the Center continually collaborates with the disaster prevention sector, allowing it to understand industry needs and refine the research and practical application of seismic science.
